Raymond Carmignani, 95, of Torrington, CT, peacefully passed away on Friday, May 7, 2021, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. He was the beloved husband of the late Jenny (Pietrafesa) Carmignani.
Raymond was born April 9, 1926, in Torrington, CT, the son of the late Olinto and Maria (Casini) Carmignani. He served his country with the U.S. Army. He was employed by Brooks, Todd & McNeil Insurance Company until his retirement.
An avid golfer, he was a longtime member of the Torrington Country Club, and a communicant of St. Peter Church, St. Peter Holy Name Society and the Triangle Club.
He had an uncanny ability to connect with people, and left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He cared for everyone and everything, including his children and grandchildren, his homemade wine, and most of all, his tomatoes.
He is survived by his two children, Cary Carmignani and his wife Karen of Torrington, CT; Gina Carmignani and her husband Reilly Tierney of New York, New York; five grandchildren, Kevin and Jason Carmignani, Andrew, Isabelle and Christina Malin.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 13, 2021, with the cortege leaving at 10:30 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, to St. Peter Church, 99 East Main St., Torrington, CT for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Francis New Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
