Everett F. Spiegelhalter, Jr.

Everett F. Spiegelhalter, Jr., 80, of Guilford, CT, formerly of Torrington, CT, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Marguerite (Colleoni) Spiegelhalter for 59 years.

Everett was born August 27, 1943, in Torrington, CT, the son of the late Everett F. and Elizabeth (Czapor) Spiegelhalter. He was employed by Colonial Corrugated as a Sales Representative until his retirement. He enjoyed many hours of fishing, golfing, had a passion for classic cars and enjoying sitting on the beach during the summer months.  He was a lifetime member of the Torrington Elks’s Lodge #372, and later joined the Branford Elk’s Club, and also was a member of the Torrington Fish and Game Club..

In addition to his wife Marguerite, he is survived by one son, Mark Spiegelhalter, and one daughter, Cheryl Petonito both of Guilford, CT: five grandchildren, Garrett and Tyler Salkins, John, Alexandra, and Leanne Petonito. As well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024, with the cortege leaving at 10:30 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, to St. Francis of Assisi Church, 160 Main St., Torrington, CT for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private. Relatives and friends may call on Friday morning, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
