Susanne F. (Weeks) Ainsworth

Susanne Florence (Weeks) Ainsworth, 74, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, July 6th, 2019 after struggling with an extended illness.

She was born on April 6, 1945, in White Plains, New York.  She was the daughter of the late Frederick H. Weeks and Beatrice Ann (Costello) Weeks.  She grew up in Ossining NY and graduated from Ossining High School and Centenary College and worked in a variety of positions with IBM during her 42 year career.

She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Harry L. Ainsworth, and a brother, Frederick Hudson Weeks of Okeechobee, FL, two nieces Dianna (Weeks) Henningson and her husband William Rockland Henningson of Saratoga Springs, NY and Denise (Weeks) Burke and her husband John Burke of Commack, NY, a nephew Freddie Hudson Weeks and his wife Kristyn (Cockburn) Weeks of Ossining, NY, five great nieces Alisa (Henningson) Cassely, Roxanne Henningson, Alexis Burke, Mia Weeks, Brooke Weeks, three great nephews, Connor Burke, Ryan Burke and Jake Weeks.

Susanne and Harry lived in Somers, NY for many years before retiring.  They then moved to Litchfield, CT.  Susanne truly loved living in Litchfield and the North West Hills where she enjoyed hiking with friends, kayaking on the Bantam River and birding with the Litchfield Hills Audubon Society, and meetings of the Goshen Garden Club.  An avid reader, she loved to travel especially to Nantucket with dear friends.  Throughout her lifetime she cherished the time spent with family at their camp on Lake Waccabuc.   She loved her cats Mootson, Pootson, Molly, Murphy, Maggie and Kirby. 

In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent to the Litchfield Community Center or to the White Memorial Conservation Center in Susanne’s name.  Funeral arrangements will be at the convenience of the family.
