Billy hired me @ Woodstock 94. It turns out we were both 21 @ our first Woodstock. I had no experience but he gave me a chance. I worked for months with him there. He called me his lieutenant. I still work in the concert business today and because of him I have been able to get numerous people into the live event industry. I'm sure he told his Woodstock stories many times as I have but know when I tell mine Billy is always a part it. He will be missed

Hello Anne, A voice from the past. Just this morning I read your husband's obituary and wanted to send condolences and good thoughts to you and your girls.
Russ and I are still living happily in Montana (44 years married) ( And they said it wouldn't last). I am subbing, skiing, reading, film going, traveling and gardening and those are my fun things I enjoy doing. And you and yours? Sandie

I'm so shocked to hear about Billy. When Mom used to clean for Annie and I had the day off, I'd go and help. Or house sitting for Annie and Bill. Plus Dog sitting. So many wonderful conversations we had. Billy had a charming personality every time I saw him. What a great guy. Thinking of you Annie.

Dear Anne and Family,
Billy would stop in front on my home and always ask "how yah doing Babci". His kindness and warmth was charismatic. My dear Grandson Jason always told me how much he loved Billy. For me that was a priceless gift he gave Jason.
Be comforted knowing he has left such a mark on all he met. God keep you all close.

It was such a shock to hear of his passing, and he will be dearly missed, as is so evident from the notes here. I always appreciated Billy's sense of humor and candor, and I know that am just one of many who enjoyed his stories. He was generous, reaching out to those who needed it, and Litchfield will be a lesser place without him.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Annie & Charlotte and Sarah and Family,
I know your hearts are broken. Our's too. Nobody was a more loving, caring and generous friend than Billy Jacobs. And nobody loved more deeply or lived life more fully. I always remember his clarion call whenever grilling the most delicious steaks ever for the guests he and Annie love to entertain -- "Take a look at these sizzling puppies!!!!" Nobody had more fun, generated more fun or shared more fun that Billy. Heading to Litchfield and bringing lots of love. Lonnie & Parker

I am deeply saddened by the news of Billy’s passing.

Talking with Billy was always a highlight of family get-togethers as every conversation was a good (and interesting!) one. He was always generous with his time, his stories, wry observations, or a glass of bourbon, and happy to talk about anything and everything from computers and his time at Cyberian Outpost to Bernese Mountain Dogs.

To Annie, Charlotte, and Sarah, my thoughts and love are with you.

I am terribly saddened to hear this news. I always greatly enjoyed talking to Billy at family functions and listening to his stories about his life and travels. What particularly stood out was his sense of humor and the nonchalant nature he had when speaking about his adventures boating in the open ocean for extended periods of time. Every time on the ride home I would reflect on what an interesting and full life he led. Even when I was much younger, he always showed interest in what I had to say and treated me with the respect he would show the adults in the room, and I always appreciated that. I will miss our conversations at the holidays dinners and family meetings. My thoughts go out to Annie, Charlotte, and Sarah during this difficult time. He loved you all very much.

Billy was a great guy - full of life- full of opinions and a lot of fun. We shared some great moments flying to Nantucket one summer day and he just wanted me to dive bomb the sea gulls - just for the fun of it! Of course we did not do it but he was having fun just suggesting it! He had a great time with his beloved camera taking pictures of every phase of the flight and marveling how wonderful it was to be up in the air and to be free of all the things that bother you down on the earth. His interests were varied and he obviously led a full life but he always told me he would go out with a bang and wanted no fuss. He left us suddenly and left us bewildered why he had to go so soon.! Good bye Billy, we will never forget you because you are in our heart!

To the Jacobs Family,
Coming into the Jacobs family through marriage, I first knew Billy as a still-
young, teen-aged boy ready to face the world. Not having been in touch with him for many years, and now reading about him, is so poignant...so sad to realize the loss, yet at the same time satisfying to know his many accomplishments, endeavors, such varied interests,..his "rugged" and "soft" sides. What a full life...one well spent, albeit, too short.
Along with the loss of his Mom, Jean, who I so admired in her strong, resolute ways, my most deepest sorrow goes out to each of you,
wife, brother, sisters, children, nieces, nephews for your loss.
Eugene, and Chris (who happens to be visiting right now) along with Lea, are sending their love and sympathy.

My love and prayers offered for your comfort.

Billy would look in the mirror and say 'you handsome devil don't you ever die' Sarah Mom and I would get such a kick out of this comment. I found this picture of him in his tux and you can see why. He really was handsome. At 67 he was too young to go, we are still in disbelief. I met Billy when I was 6 years old. He proved to be more loving and more of a father than anyone else in my life. He would always check my oil and fix my car. If my computer acted up he would fix it before I even knew what the problem was. If I hadn't eaten he would be the first to throw a Muckie Dog on the grill, He kept the pool clean, He grew fabulous tomatoes and various peppers in the garden. I will remember the good memories forever. And will never forget how much I loved him.
