Shirley A. (Jeffers) Hartenthaler

Shirley A. (Jeffers) Hartenthaler, 78, of Torrington, CT, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2016, at her residence.  She was the wife of the late Rupert Hartenthaler.

Shirley was born February 4, 1938, in Winsted, CT, daughter of the late Irving and Emma (Alderman) Jeffers.  She was an avid doll and music box collector.  She enjoyed cooking and attending the Adult Day Care Program at Geer.  Shirley’s family would like to extend special gratitude to Esther, her caregiver, for “keeping her home”, and also to Mary Hoxie for the special care given to her while she attended the Geer programs.

She is survived by one son, Bradford Otis and his wife Laurie of Torrington, CT; two daughters, Lorren Otis Stewart and her fiancé David Syrene of Winsted, CT, Deborah Otis Cresswell and her husband Tony of Hollywood, FL; one brother, Robert Jeffers of Las Vegas, NV; seven grandchildren, Justin Stewart, Tyler Syrene, Christopher Denardis, Chad Denardis, Carly Denardis, Brett Otis, Alyssa Otis, one great grandson, Dylan Stewart, as well as several nieces and nephews, and her precious cat "Prince" who was everything to her.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington.  Burial will be private.  Condolences may be sent to Shirley’s family by visiting www.cookfuneralhomect.com
