Dear Kathy, Heather, Jay & the whole Scott Community: Scott had such presence who naturally gifted his uplifting spirit to all around him. I write from the distance of many years ,yet, reading his name immediately brings this most pleasant feeling. A feeling so vividly present in his making a whole bunch of people feeling so enheartened with his Special Olympic victories. I like the metaphor of the candle. Wishes that the flame of grateful memory will continue Scott's gift of uplifting presence. I send an appreciation of your family's living example of love. May you all be well, Sam

I grew up with Scotty for a huge part of my life as he lived in the group home in Canaan with my aunt and uncle (Strattman-Marchi family) he was such a bright man, I spent a lot of time with him while he was there and numerous vacations with him and we want to send our love and condolences to the case family. He was so so very loved by myself and everyone that had the pleasure and honor to meet him. Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to know him and he will greatly be missed.

Dear Case Family,
We are so sorry to hear of Scotty's passing. We met him about 10 years ago at the Goshen Fair and would look forward to seeing him every year. Chris and Diane would bring him to see our goats and he would tell me about his Gold Medals and it truly was our honor to have a local celebrity come hang out with us. Every year without fail he wore his Goatboy Soaps shirt.
We are so very sorry for your loss.

Knew Scott from the Northwest Special Olympic Swim team and working at LARC. He was a joy to be with. A great Swimmer and did his very best at the Special Olympic World Games in 1995 at New Haven. A short guy, but a very big heart. Always teasing the coaches, He will be missed.

It has been my pleasure to have served Scott helping to care for him since he moved into Watertown home. He put a smile in my day with his quick wit. i took him to dinner for his birthday and he so proudly told everyone we went on a date, he was so excited when the waiters came and sang happy birthday. He loved to dance and be as helpful as he could be.We will all miss him very much. Sincere condolences to the family.

Scotty's smile and enthusiasm inspired me to stay volunteering for SO years ago when I was a nervous teen. 20 years later I am home and back in the pool, some very familiar faces but no Scotty. Our team will ache for his loss, no matter how many years it's been since he was active. Much love to his family feeling his absence. Be proud of everything he was and how his happiness flowed!
