Matthew and I crossed paths in life at a very young age growing up in Torrington Connecticut in the same Boy Scout troop. While I did not get to know him very well, and our interactions were short lived, it tugs at my heart strings to know a former fellow Scout brother has passed too soon. It would have been an honor and a joy to meet him now at our age and get to know the successful man he became.
My thoughts prayers and blessings go out to you and your family. May God rest Matthews soul, may the universe shower you with comfort for all the rest of your days, and may you find peace and comfort in these difficult times.

This past year has been quite a challenging one for all of you and it seems impossible to believe all that has occurred since Abby's first birthday party. Our hearts ache for all of you, and we will continue to keep you all in our thoughts and prayers always. Please let us know if we can help in some way. RIP Matt.

Although only a member of the Drakeville Volunteer Fire Department for just over a year, Matt was one of the most beloved members. He fit in almost immediately and will be missed dearly by all members of the department. In my 47 years in the department I cannot recall one other member that was loved as much as Matt.
