Anna (Parente) Diorio

Anna (Parente) Diorio, 84, of Torrington, CT, passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.

Anna was born October 29, 1932, in Torrington, CT, the daughter of the late Rocco and Mary Rose (Pelosi) Parente.  She was employed by the Torrington Company as a timekeeper until her retirement.  Anna was a lifelong communicant of St. Peter Church.  She was a member of the Saint Anne Society, Children of Mary and a volunteer at the Lourdes in Litchfield Shrine.  Anna was a beloved aunt and treated her nieces and nephews as if they were her children.  She was also a godmother to many.

Anna traveled to many destinations all over the world, enjoyed The Bushnell Travel Series, attending productions at the Warner Theatre, family dance recitals, and shopping and dining out with friends and family.  Anna was a fun-loving and generous spirit who never missed a family event and loved being surrounded by all.

Anna is survived by two sisters, Marzia Antoinette Villareale (Antonio) and Yolanda Parente (Liberato), both of Torrington.  She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Barbara Parente of Cheshire.  She was predeceased by a sister, Hilda Parente and a brother, Vincent Parente.  She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Anthony Parente (Sandra), Roseanna Parente, Joseph Villareale, Rosemarie MacNeal (Kevin), Diane Woodruff, (Robert), Lisa DuBois, (Scott), Lee Parente, (Christine), Vincent Parente, (Ann), and Eric Parente, (Lynn).  Anna is also survived by her great nieces and nephews, Dustin Parente, (Kathryn), Kelsey Klebart, (George), Brandan and Lindsay Holbrook, Megan, Steven and Melissa Woodruff, Olivia, Lauren and Nicholas Parente, Zachary and Benjamin Parente, Claire Parente, Sienna DuBois and three great-grand nieces, Sophia and Mae Parente and Eleanor Klebart.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 with the cortège leaving at 8:30 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington to St. Peter Church, 107 East Main St., Torrington for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m.  Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may call on Friday, April 21, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. To 7:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
