Welcome to the memorial page for

William Patrick "Billy" Jacobs

April 12, 1948 ~ February 9, 2016 (age 67) 67 Years Old

William Patrick “Billy” Jacobs, of Litchfield, Connecticut, died on Tuesday, February 9, 2016, of complications from emergency surgery.  He was born on April 12, 1948, in Bronxville, New York, son of David Samuel and Jean Corrigan Jacobs.  He grew up in Yonkers, New York, and graduated from Cardinal Hayes High School in the Bronx.  He attended Fordham University and graduated from the University of Miami.

During college, he worked in music production and was on the crew that built the stage and worked security at Woodstock.  He lived in Colorado and loved the Rocky Mountains.

After surviving cancer with the help of Dr. Jedd Levine, he went to sea school and became a licensed 100-ton Master.  He spent glorious days on the high seas delivering yachts.  His home away from home was the Motor Yacht Pyewacket.  Her Captain, and Billy’s dear friend, Andrew McKee, will take Billy’s ashes into the Gulf Stream off Florida for scattering in those ocean waves.

He was employed for many years at Outpost.com, which became Fry’s.com, as an internet fraud investigator and worked with the Postal Inspector, FBI, Secret Service, and police departments around the country to set up stings to secure prosecution of fraudulent purchases and deliveries of company property.  His work broke up a major theft ring in Beverly Hills, CA.

He volunteered as a driver of the Malta van and helped any friend in need.  He was an accomplished photographer.

He leaves his wife, Anne C. Dranginis; his step-daughters, Charlotte and Sarah Zivic; his brother, David his sisters, Louise  Silver and Jean Correa; his sister-in-law Mary Cianciolo; his aunts and uncles Eileen and Bill Corrigan, Gloria Corrigan, Liz and Jerry Bender, Gloria Jacobs; his nieces, Megan Youngling Carannante (Vincenzo), Lauren Youngling Hoskins (Andrew), and Kristin Youngling, Kathryn Correa, and Elizabeth Correa; his nephews, David Correa (Melissa) and Tim Correa; his grandnieces, Isabella Carannante and Bryce Hoskins, and grandnephew, Ben Correa, whom he dearly loved and who entertained him endlessly.  He leaves many friends who shared his life and supported him in his illness.

The family thanks the doctors and staff of the ICU of Charlotte Hungerford Hospital for their professional and compassionate care of Billy during his final illness.
