Welcome to the memorial page for

Scott Case

October 12, 1965 ~ May 23, 2016 (age 50) 50 Years Old

Scott Case, a Special Olympic enthusiast, died unexpectedly, yet peacefully in his sleep, on May 23, 2016, at the age of 50.

Scott is survived by his Mom, Kathy Case, his brother, Jay Case, his sister Heather Case Dzielak, his brother-in-law Moose Dzielak and his two nieces, Meghan and Lindsey Dzielak.  Scott was predeceased by his father George Case.

Scott was born on October 12, 1965.  He attended the King Phillip School in West Hartford and went on to be an accomplished Special Olympic athlete, winning a Gold Medal in the 1995 Special Olympic International Summer World Games.  Scott worked at LARC in Torrington, CT for 20 years.

Scott lived at home most of his life with his mom and dad but upon the passing of his father moved into a group home in Canaan with Chris and Diane Marchi.  He spent nearly 15 years with his group home family.  Last year Scott moved into a new group home in Watertown, CT, offering him the advanced care he needed.

Scott was an inspiration to all who knew him.  Scott loved being with his family and friends but most of all playing UNO.  He worked hard and always had a smile in his heart.  He will be missed but never forgotten.
