William "Willie" Lovallo Obituary

William “Willie” M. Lovallo, of Torrington, CT, passed into eternal life on July 30, 2022, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. He was the devoted husband of the late Virginia T. “Jean” (Bosio) Lovallo, who he married on December 13, 1952.

Willie was born in Torrington on December 9, 1930, to the late Daniel and Clara (Ricci) Lovallo. He was a life-long communicant of St. Peter Church where he was a member of the Holy Name Society, and a “Fisherman” and later “Captain” for the St. Peter Men’s Retreat League. He was an usher at St. Peter Church, taught CCD to the eighth graders at St. Peter School and was a member of the Torrington Elk’s Club #372. Willie was proud to serve as Sargent in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a great mechanic who worked with his father at the family-owned gas station, which he took over once his father passed away. He also worked as a mechanic at DiVita’s and Hunter Motors. He was employed at the Torrington Company first as a mechanic and then as a supervisor in the Data Management Department. In addition, he was a rural carrier at the Torrington Post Office.

Willie enjoyed gardening, repairing anything broken, sharing time, and telling stories with family, and helping out family and friends with any project they had. But above all, he was a man of strong faith, which is what guided him to be such a beautiful person.

Willie is survived by his children: Diane Trivella of Torrington, Karen Casinghino and husband Lou of Suffield, Linda Wrenn and husband John Jr. of New Milford, Bill Lovallo and wife Shellie of Belmont, MA, Nancy Canfield and husband Bryan of Granby, and Susan Zordan and husband Mike of New Hartford. He has eleven grandchildren: Michael DePaolo and wife Nicky of Wakefield, MA, Lisa L’Italien and husband Corey of Groveland, MA, John Wrenn III and wife Sarah of Long Island, Jennifer Barrett and husband Jason of New Milford, Bryanna, Hanna, Rebecca and Ella Canfield of Granby, Mikayla and Madelyn Zordan of New Hartford, and Sarah Lovallo of Belmont, MA. He has six great grandchildren, Duke and Ruby DePaolo, Jackson and Lilly Barrett and Andrew and Evan Wrenn. He has three step grandchildren, Carl Casinghino and wife Alexandra of Suffield, Brian Casinghino and wife Heather of Suffield, Lori Casinghino and wife Bernadette Kenny of Milton, MA. He also has five step-great-grandchildren: Matteo, Lucie, Vincent, Anna, and Daniel Casinghino of Suffield. Besides his parents and wife, Willie was predeceased by his granddaughter Clara Lillian Canfield, his great-granddaughter January Angel DePaolo, his brothers Michael and Ralph Lovallo and his sisters, Marie (Dolly Lovallo) Colucci, and Lucy (Lovallo) Weik. He is survived by his sister Ann Lovallo Morando, brother-in-law Edward Bosio and wife Arlene, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and many friends.
