Patricia Treadway Obituary

Patricia Treadway, age 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on January 3, 2021 at Geer Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Canaan, CT. She was the loving wife of Frank B.Treadway Jr.

Pat was born on December 14th, 1941 in Winsted, CT, to the late Joseph and Agnes (Olzanski) Sterpka. She was a graduate of Gilbert High School of Winsted.

In the earlier years Pat worked as a dietary aide at the Winsted Hospital, later becoming employed at Becton Dickinson where she dedicated 27 years of service.

Along with her husband she was an avid camper and enjoyed many camping trips. Her love of adventure led both her and Frank out west to Lake Havasu City where they would join their friends to explore the many experiences that Arizona had instore for them. When not out west they would venture back to CT where they would spend many summers at Lone Oaks Campsite with their second family.

Pat leaves behind her brothers: Jim Sterpka and his wife Joanne of Suncity West, AZ, and Richard Sterpka and his wife Carol of Winsted, CT. She was predeceased by her brother George Sterpka and his wife Dawn of Sumter, South Carolina. Pat also leaves behind her children:  Peter Spadaccini and his wife Nancy of New Jersey; Pam Brunoli and her husband Gary of New Hartford; Valerie Hurlburt and her husband David of West Cornwall; and Frank Treadway III and his wife Melody of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Nothing brought her more joy then watching her grandchildren grow through the years: Jenna, Katelyn, Brianna, Krystal, Karissa, Ryan, Ashley, Jessica, Kyle as well as her great grandchildren: Ryan, Brooke, Declan, Jacob, Elias, Carson, Elanah, Logan, Dustin, and Brynlee. She loved them with all of her heart and soul.

Pat was dedicated to serving others –whether she knew you for a day or a lifetime, she always made time in her schedule and her heart for everyone she met, with a loving kindness, second to none.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Geer Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility for all the love, care, and compassion shown to Pat during her stay there.

In lieu of flowers Pat’s wishes were to donate to the Torrington Area Parkinson's Support Group.
