Nivio A. Cracco

Nivio A. Cracco (Nebs) passed away on March 6, 2023, at the age of 94. He was born March 25, 1928, in Torrington to John and Mary Cracco.  He was a US Navy veteran and worked for Rapid Dairy Transport as a milk hauler for 38 years.  Nivio loved family gatherings, picnics, making wine, speaking Italian, and frequenting his favorite restaurants with family.  He was grateful for and proud of his family, and they in turn felt the same.

Nivio was predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Helen. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his sister Gloria Cianciolo and brothers Sisto Cracco and Marcus Cracco.  He is survived by four children:  Celine Cracco of Simsbury CT, Gerri Slowikowski (George) of Harwinton CT, Michael (Robin) of Waterbury CT and Philip (Roxanne) of Bristol CT, as well as siblings Diana Neshko, Veronica Santo, and John Cracco (Jo-An), . He was grandfather to Andrew Cracco, Brian Slowikowski, Chelsea Mielke, Liza Cracco, Sam Slowikowski, Andreya Thibeault, Daria Slowikowski, and Brianna Cracco and had four great-grandchildren.  Also mourning him are Marilyn Howe, Whitney Lavigne and Caitlin Boissoneault, whom he considered family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at 11AM at St. Peter Church, (St. John Paul the Great Parish), 99 East Main St., Torrington. There are no calling hours.
