Mary Ann (Klukis) Wilcox

Mary Ann (Klukis) Wilcox, 89, of Torrington, CT, peacefully passed away at her home on Saturday, August 5, 2023, surrounded by her family.  She was the wife of the late Edd H. Wilcox, who preceded her in death on August 5, 1994.

Mary Ann was born July 22, 1934, in Torrington, CT, the daughter of the late Peter and Ida (Sombathy) Klukis. 

She had a life long love of baseball starting with going to Yankee games as a child with her father and cousins.  She loved going to local community theater productions, listening to music (especially Barry Manilow) and watching NASCAR racing.  Mary Ann had seen numerous shows over the years at the Warner Theater, Thomaston Opera House, Center Stage in Shelton, and Seven Angels Theater.  You may have even seen her volunteering at Phoenix Stage Company - ushering patrons to their seats or handing out popcorn.  She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend.  

Mary Ann is survived by three children, David Wilcox and his wife Sandi of New Hartford, CT, Sharon Houk and her husband Stephen of Goshen, CT, Cathy Sturmer and her husband Kevin of Milford, CT and four grandchildren, Amy Wilcox, Ashley Wilcox, Evan Sturmer and Charles Houk.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, CT.  Burial will be private.  Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
