Katherine "Irene" Girolimon

Katherine “Irene” Girolimon, beloved wife and mother, passed away peacefully on Sunday August 13, 2023, surrounded by her family, who will miss her dearly.

Katherine was born on February 27, 1935, in Torrington, and spent her entire life there. She married her beloved husband, Joseph “Pinky” Girolimon, and together they raised five children who were the center of her world. Katherine was an outstanding wife and mother, who always put her family's needs before her own. She was unselfish and cared for others immensely.

Katherine had a warm and caring personality, and she was always ready to lend a listening ear or a helping hand to anyone who needed it. She was a devout member of her church, and her faith was an important part of her life. Katherine also had a passion for cooking and was known for her delicious meals and Christmas cookies, which she often shared with family and friends.

Katherine's legacy lives on through her children, Richard, Tom (Laurie), Steve (Chaunda Oneglia) Mary Ann Kos (Ed). A son David predeceased her.

Grandchildren, Justin and Eric Girolimon, Shelby Kos Martin and (Jordan Martin), Austin Kos, Joshua, and Jessica Girolimon and two great grandchildren, who will always cherish the memories they shared with her. Her kindness, generosity, and selflessness will make Irene missed by all who knew her.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the Wolcott Hall caregivers And AccentCare Hospice who provided compassionate care to Katherine “Irene” during her illness.

Services will be private, and the family requests that any donations be to St. Jude’s Children Hospital or For the Love of Jack fortheloveofjack.org in lieu of flowers.
