Jacqueline M. (Asselin) Mottai

Jacqueline M. (Asselin) Mottai, 87, of Torrington, CT, peacefully passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at Litchfield Woods. She was the beloved wife of Reno J. Mottai for 63 years.

Jackie was born August 3, 1934, in Winsted, CT, the daughter of the late Emile and Aldea Asselin. She was employed by the Torrington Register as an Office Clerk until her retirement.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, David Mottai (Punika) of Myrtle Beach, SC, Peter Mottai of West Hartford, CT, Daniel Mottai of Nashville, TN; four daughters, Terry Corbo (Rick) of Torrington, CT, Michele Costanzo (Bill) of Bradenton, FL, Julia Mottai of Torrington, CT, Mary Maiorino (Pat) of Raleigh, NC; two brothers, Lionel Asselin (Kathy) and Leo Asselin, both of Winsted, CT; one sister, Jeanette Asselin of Torrington, CT; as well as many grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Aime Asselin, Maurice Asselin and one sister, Claudette Fragale.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, with the cortege leaving at 10:30 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, to St. Peter Church (St. John Paul the Great Parish) 99 East Main St., Torrington, CT. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
