Claire (Bayette) Sclafani

Claire (Bayette) Sclafani, 84, of Torrington, CT, passed away January 31, 2020, at Litchfield Woods.  She was the wife of the late Patsy Sclafani.

Claire was born February 6, 1935, in Torrington, CT, the daughter of the late Robert and Mable (Grady) Bayette. She worked at Wolcott Hall for 25 years as a nurses aide.  

She is survived by one son, Patrick Sclafani and his wife Jennifer Curtiss of Middleboro, MA; three daughters, Nanette Wald and her husband Wyette of Torrington, CT, Joanne Sclafani, of Torrington, CT, Tricia Gagliardi and her husband Gerry of Hudson, FL, one brother, Edward Bayette and his wife Mary of Torrington, CT; seven grandchildren, Kyle and Klayton Wald, Cassandra and Catrina Sclafani, Joseph, Nicholas and Daniel Sclafani, and great grandchildren, Kyler, Kami, Lindsey, Sophia, Emily and Isabelle Wald, as well as her sister in law Rita Bayette and several nieces and nephews. Claire’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her family-especially her grand and great grandchildren. She displayed endless patience playing board games and cards with them, swimming in her pool, and enjoining and cherishing their time spent together.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Bayette of Torrington, CT. 

The family would like to thank the staff at Litchfield Woods for the care and compassion shown to Claire during her stay.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 3, 2020, with the cortege leaving at 10:30 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington to St. Francis of Assisi Church (St. John Paul the Great Parish),160 Main St., Torrington, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Francis New Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may call on Monday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.at Cook Funeral Home.
