Marzia Antonia (Parente) Villareale

Marzia Antonia aka “Marcia-Antoinette” (Parente) Villareale, 88, of North Granby, formerly of Torrington, CT, passed away peacefully at home, Sunday, February 11, 2018, surrounded by her children where she always loved to be.  She was the beloved wife of Antonio Villareale for 60 years.

Marzia was born March 2, 1929, in Torrington, CT, daughter of the late Rocco and Maria Rosa (Pelosi) Parente.  She graduated with honors from Torrington High School in 1946.  A devoted homemaker to her family; she loved music, singing, tinkering at the keyboard, dancing with her husband--always the first to the dance floor and watching “Dancing with the Stars”.  She was a member of the Mother Cabrini Society, and a communicant of St. Peter Church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Joseph Villareale of Torrington; daughters Rosemarie MacNeal (Kevin) of New Bern, NC, Diane Woodruff (Robert) of Morris, Lisa DuBois (Scott) of North Granby. Her pride and joy were her six grandchildren, Brandan (Caroline) and Lindsay Holbrook; Megan O'Brien (Will), Steven and Melissa Woodruff; and Sienna DuBois.  She is also survived by a sister, Yolanda Parente of Torrington, as well as several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her brother, Vincent Parente, and sisters, Anna Diorio and Hilda Parente.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 16, 2018, with the cortege leaving at 9:30 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, to St. Peter Church, 107 East Main St., Torrington, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m.  Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery.  Calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2018, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
