Josephine M DiLaurenzio

Josephine (Masciarelli) DiLaurenzio, 91, of Torrington, CT, passed away, Monday, November 27, 2017, at Waterbury Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.  She was the wife of the late Hugo DiLaurenzio.

Born April 8, 1926, in Orient, PA, she was the daughter of the late Torello and Angeline (Zaccagnino) Masciarelli.  She was employed by Howmet Manufacturing, in the Material Review Department, until her retirement in 1987.  An avid reader, and fabulous cook, she was known for baking Christmas cookies each year to give to her family and friends.  She was a member of the Sullivan Senior Center, and a communicant of St. Peter Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Jean Ross and son-in-law Donald of Ellington, CT,  Linda McWeeney and son-in-law Cregg of Middlebury, CT; one brother, Daniel Masciarelli; one sister, Jean Ducatelli, both of Torrington; five grandchildren, Rebecca Balfe, Nicholas Ross (Sharon),Timothy Ross (Meghan), Eric McWeeney (Lori), Mark McWeeney, five great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Milanesi.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2017, with the cortege leaving at 11:00 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, to St. Peter Church, 107 East Main St., Torrington, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m.  Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may call on Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
