Harry Knox Obituary

Harry A. Knox, 78, of Torrington, CT, unexpectedly passed away at his residence on Monday, May 6, 2019.  He was the beloved husband of Joyce (Fabbi) Knox for 55 years.

Harry was born April 12, 1941, in Waterbury, CT, son of the late Harold and Mary (Klocke) Knox.  He served his country with the US National Guard, and was employed by the City of Torrington, Water Pollution Plant for over 30 years.  He was a member of  the Northwest Rod and Gun Club, and of the Sullivan Senior Center.  Known among his family and friends as “Mr. Fix it” he could fix anything, and had a great sense of humor.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting and woodworking, but, more than anything, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

In addition to his wife Joyce, he is survived by two daughters Stacie Vaill and her husband Glenn of Torrington, CT, Shelli Rhoads and her fiancé Mark DeCruccio of Goshen, CT two sons, Daren Knox and his wife Melanie of Harwinton, CT, Duane Knox of Torringon,  six grandchildren, Kyle Vaill and his wife Michelle, Lynsie Todor and her husband David, Jordan and Devin Rhoads, Curtis and Tyler Joseph; two great grandchildren, Ryder Vaill and Charlotte Todor, as well as several nieces, nephews and many friends. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Church (St. John Paul the Great Parish) 99 East Main St., Torrington.  Relatives and friends are asked to meet directly at St. Peter Church.  Burial will follow at St. Francis New Cemetery.  Calling hours will be held on Monday, May 13, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington.
