Gloria F. (Giarnese) Denza

Gloria F. (Giarnese) Denza, 95, of Torrington, CT, peacefully passed away at her home on Thursday, November 28, 2019, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late William M. Denza, Sr.
Gloria was born September 22, 1924, in Torrington, CT, the daughter of the late Frank and Filomena (DiPippo) Giarnese. She was employed by S.N.E.T. as a telephone operator until her retirement. After her retirement, she became a member of the Telephone Pioneers.

She is survived by two sons, Paul Denza and his wife Barbara of Torrington, CT, William M. Denza, Jr. of Grove City, OH; one daughter, Lynn Stiles and her husband Ronald of Hallstead, PA; one sister-in-law, Eleanor Denza of Torrington, CT; five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. Gloria was predeceased by a brother John; a brother Louis; a sister, Carrie Leonard and her husband, Ernie; a sister, Rose Zande and her husband, Manley; a sister, Louise Pollutro and her husband, Fred; a sister Antoinette Power and her husband, P. Edmund: a brother, Mario and his wife, Mary; a brother, John, and his wife Helen. She was also predeceased by a brother-in-law, John Denza.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2019, with the cortege leaving at 8:30 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington to St. Peter Church (St. John Paul the Great Parish) for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m.  Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery.  Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and also from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning, December 4, 2019, at Cook Funeral Home.
