Annemarie “Annie” Elizabeth Bushka died Saturday, April 14, 2018, as result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Great Barrington, MA.
Annie was born to the late Kathryn and Bernard Bushka in Torrington, CT on November 16, 1953. She graduated from Torrington High School, the University of Connecticut, and earned a Juris Doctorate from Syracuse University in 1989. After practicing law locally, Annie moved to the Great Barrington area where she was a team supervisor for a local graphic arts company. She then worked at the Great Barrington Senior Center as assistant to the director. Her experience there led to her current advocacy for seniors.
Annie loved all things family, music, and nature. She was an avid reader and lover of art. Annie was also a talented seamstress who carried on a family tradition and created her own line of pajamas, one-of-a-kind quilts, and bags. She was an ardent fan of the Uconn Huskies and New England Patriots.
Survivors include her siblings Mary Teddick, Bernadette Krayeski and her husband John, Diane Pekrul, Mark Bushka and his wife Kathy, David Bushka and his wife Kim, eleven nieces and nephews, twelve great nieces and great nephews, her aunts Mabel Woolley and Kathleen Bushka, and many cousins and friends.

Calling hours will be held at Cook Funeral Home in Torrington, CT on Monday, April 23, from 4 to 7 p.m. with a service to follow. Burial will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Torrington Tuesday morning at 11:00 a.m.
