Alfred C. King, Jr.

Alfred C. King, Jr., 85, of New Hartford, CT, peacefully passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital.  He was the husband of the late Linda (Fassio) King.

Alfred was born December 15, 1932, in Hartford, CT, son of the late Alfred C. King, Sr.  He was employed by Turner and Seymour Manufacturing until his retirement.  He enjoyed taking care of his yard, driving to Dunkin Donuts every day to have coffee with friends, and tinkering in his workshop.  After his wife and daughter passed on, he also was devoted to their memory and tending to their burial place of rest.

He is survived by one daughter, Deborah Metzger of Beaufort, SC; three grandchildren, Eric Jacklin, Kate Metzger, Stephen Metzger, as well as several nieces and nephews and many friends.  In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Shirley King.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2018, with the cortege leaving at 10:30 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, to St. Francis of Assisi Church, 160 Main St., Torrington, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m.   Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may call on Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
