March 16, 1941 ~ January 10, 2017 (age 75) 75 Years Old

Ronald "Ron" McCalvin passed away peacefully on January 10, 2017, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born March 16, 1941 in Lake Placid, NY to Richard and Jennie (Campbell) McCalvin. He spent his childhood in Lake Placid. Ron worked as a shift supervisor for Century Brass in New Milford, as well as with his longtime friend Frederick McAlley doing lawn maintenance until his retirement in 2004. During his lifetime and throughout his retirement he enjoyed spending time with family, relaxing in the pool and drinking his Miller High Life. He loved sharing his knowledge of hunting and fishing and his words always resonated with his well known husky voice. He raced stock cars in his early life and continued to enjoy the life of speed watching his weekly NASCAR races. Even though he was on oxygen he continued to exercise five days per week at Planet Fitness.

Ron was predeceased by his parents and his niece Mindy. He is survived by the love of his life Pamela (Belanger) McCalvin of thirty-four years with whom he loved to travel, especially to Hawaii; daughter, Victoria and son, Ronald, Jr.; granddaughters, Cheyenne, Desiree and Lynn; great-granddaughter Lucianna; brother, Richard "Marty" and his wife Arlene of Bloomingdale, NY; brother, Bill of Lake Placid, NY; brother, Bob of Saranac Lake, NY; sister, Kim of Schuyler Falls, NY; his mother and father-in-law, Roland and Marie-Ange Belanger of Washington Depot; sisters and brothers-in-law, Dolores, Brian, Norman, Kathy, Vincent and Dawn Belanger; nieces and nephews, Desiree, Terri, Reed, Jennie, James, Thomas, Lee, Lauren, Aaron, Rachael, Sarah, Veronica, Mariah, Billy and Bobby; as well as great-nieces, Addy, Sofia, Michael Ann, Korilynn, and great-nephews, Logan, Ivan, Brycen, Joshua and Tyler, who adored their Uncle "Non".
