James J. O'Meara

James J. O’Meara, 67, of Harwinton, CT, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at his home surrounded by his loving family.  He was the husband of Peggy (Passini) O’Meara for 42 years.

Jim was born March 19, 1948, in Torrington, CT, son of the late Joseph and Veronica (Glenbiski) O’Meara.  He retired from SCASCO where he was a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor.

In addition to his wife Peggy, he is survived by their daughter, Erin Clark and her husband William of Colebrook, CT; one brother, Thomas O’Meara of Harwinton, and his granddaughter Madison Clark. Madison was the light of her “Poppy’s” life.  He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 15, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 160 Main St., Torrington, CT.  Friends are asked to meet directly at St. Francis Church.  Burial will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery, Litchfield.  Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 14, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, CT.
